Girni kamgar, factory workers and mill employees do not wait, because MHADA housing projects are constructed specially for them. All general categories people will get benefit.

Real estate in Mumbai is very costly so out of reach middle class and workers. Property workers can get chance in MHADA house. MHADA house is the best place where can buy house paying Rs. 6 Lakh or nearly.

Last MHADA lottery for mill workers draws announced in August 2017. That time approximately 9559 apartments allotted and remaining applicants will get more chance on March 1, 2017 mill workers lottery released by MHADA Mumbai.

Workers at the plant protest in front of the Rangsharda Ward, Bandra and demand that they be rehabilitated in the city. Factory workers are unhappy with the government’s decision to give them houses in the suburbs of Mumbai. The workers strongly condemned the decision and held a dharna outside the Rangsharda Bandra Hall where the results of the MHADA lottery were announced and demanded that houses be provided in Mumbai.

Most of the factory workers lived in the center of Bombay, but after the mills closed, many of them were unemployed. New residential complexes and shopping centers were built in the area where factories operated before. After the construction boom, plant workers now fear they can be rehabilitated outside the city limits. Many of them do not want to move to the village of Kone near Panvel.

The results of the MHADA lottery were announced Friday to provide affordable housing for factory workers. The institution has built 2,417 houses in the village of Kone, Panvel. The Minister of the Interior of Maharashtra, Mr. Prakash Mehta, Mr. Ravindra Waikar, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Minister of Industries Subhash Desai and Chief of BJP Mumbai Ashish Shelar on this occasion. The factory workers began to protest and demanded that they be provided with houses in the city itself. None of the ministers trying to intervene in this matter, factory workers became angry.

The former Democratic Front government had agreed to give land free to workers who did not want a house in Mumbai. However, they did not apply this decision. About 1.5 lakh mill workers are eligible for housing. We did demonstrations over a long period of time, “said a former worker.

“We must receive houses within the city of Mumbai and we will not move anywhere else outside of the metropolis. If the state government does not solve this problem, we will intensify our agitation,” said another worker.

Earlier, even Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that every worker will work in Mumbai, but the promise remains unfinished. A total of 1.84 workers of lakh mill were affected by the disappearance of the textile industry of the city.

Mumbai had successful textile factories that occupied first-class land in the island city in the 1980s. A factory union strike, which demanded a wage increase in 1982, and the firm position of factory owners have hit mills, destroying labor lakhs’ livelihoods. The government then decided to reserve some of the plots for affordable housing and open spaces.
